Can you see my hands?
By steuss
I'm holding memories in my palms,
the snows of past long since fled from
us, Our footprints long since melted
with the sun and soot.
Do you remember the sound of our breathing,
Do you remember the whisper of the snow,
Remember the sound of actual voices,
Remember the whisper of comfort?
I'm holding on to memories with joy,
the wave I saw will never lap again for
us, Our footprints in sand dissappeared
with the moon and mud.
Do you remember the touch of air,
Do you remember the scrape of wind?
Remember the touch of rain,
Remember the scrape of silverware?
I'm holding still in my memories,
the winds of past bursting open doors for
us, Our footprints of rain evaporating
with the dirt and dread.
Do you remember the sight of our laughter,
Do you remember the wave of the trees,
Remember the sight of vibrant joy,
Remember the wave of excitement?
I'm holding no more the path to my memories,
the elements have taken from me
us, Our words no longer spoken
with the waves or winds...
Will you Remember for me the sound of our voices?
WIll you Remember for me the whisper of snow?
Remember for us the touch of air,
Remember for us the sight of our laughter,
Remember me,
remember.

melancholy, sweet in its memories, pointing out how beautiful the world really is and that there are enjoyable things... I like the simple nature-imagery. Nice.
