Cold sprawl
By Dr Benway
Its almost too painful to wait
to ignore, to doubt.
Driving slowly
Ice cracking under the tires
radio blasting static
I try to drink in the cold air
but it just burns my lungs.
crossing my legs one way
then the other,
banging my heavy boots together
"there's no place like home"
"there's no place like..."Oh, fuck this
Again, on the same sour streets
seeing same sour faces
hearing the same sour lies
I don't belong here,
I know I don't
Drop
bubble
slurp
swirl
like a rusty nail through old leather
and then a moan
and then a moan...
Maybe I do belong here after all

The "Drop bubble slurp swirl" instantly reminded me of the movie Requiem for a Dream...I loved the images you painted...as sick as it may sound, I found them beautiful.

you have an original and hard-hitting style. It is very powerful... this is the second work of yours I've read, and I'll be going back for more. Bravo.
