I Walk Alone
By Liath
The gray cement sweetly gleaming
With the light from the poles on the corners
Under the unifying force that is all-seeing
The empty street full of gliding silent mourners
The rain falls from above
Slapping softly at the roofs of the houses
A spectre in the land of the breeze
Though not a hair on my head rouses
I am always fighting the guise of love
To think I might not see those eyes
So big and clear
Justifies the sound of a girl that cries
And here alone I'm afraid of the fear
Light up the sky again and let the downpour end
Walking under the moon
The scintillating paleness reflects off of the windowpanes
Showing scenes from my past
Illuminating the street
And guiding my way to the end
My duster rustles around my feet
And the twilight translates it's tranquil vibes
The tears that fall to the floor are synonymous to the sores on the feet
Love is the antidote for the heartache that the doctor prescribes
When Cupid sweeps the sky above
Shoots a man in the heart
The olive branch is broken by an angry dove
I put my heart back up for sale at the Broken Mart
I made a fool of myself
Slipped in a puddle of broken dreams
I can see what I want, but can I reach the shelf?
Seems like all my life is unraveling at the seams
The crows mock me with their critical voices
Wise are they who sit in the tress and observe
Weighing out each and every one of my choices
And whispering amongst themselves what I deserve
And so I come to a fork in the street
An onyx abyss to the left, and bright lights to the right
My body weighs down ever more upon my feet
But happiness is in my sight
(Might be finished..not sure..check back soon anyway.)
