~ Rios de Reflejos ~

By Spiritus_Frumenti

Perhaps I feel too much, and understand too little
To ever know the true nature of myself
-
Perhaps I am bound to live in dreams
Where thoughts turn to ice and precipitate forever
Where everything is silent,
As I burn alive with my will to love and cry
Wondering,
Who will save me from the heavy and the infinite?
-
In nights like these,
The candles seem to sway to the motions of my soul
Creating shadows on the walls
Figures that do not look like me
-
Past my window,
The iridescent moon casts its rays upon canopies of somber woods,
So delicate yet poignant as the tears that drip so soon
-
Visions of past oceans,
Come back to drown the fields of hope fate has promised me,
Rising slowly from the cliffs, the fringes of what I believe
-
As the ground trembles,
I see petals falling from a blooming flower
Only wishing I was close enough to catch them,
before the water does,
Knowing it was over for us anyway,
Thinking I deserved to hold something beautiful in the end...

the feelings and memories you have seem to be residual and antiqued. substantial in the timeline of your life but like old photographs that never stay in the past. it's like you're living in a movie. a very artsy and romantic movie where the heroine is tortured and beautiful. you are the heroine. and we're all just here to watch.

every time i read you i feel like i'm reading your diary. like i'm feeling pieces of you too intimate for everyone to stare and gawk at. like you are significant in your pain. and my reading you is significant in itself. you're heavy and melancholic. and i'm pensive and accepting.

Like walking through rainforests for hours on end and soaking up the beauty, memories to hold and to keep...This is truly an image of wonder and as always you've expressed it with a brilliant display of eloquence...

outstanding, another mesmorizing work of art from you, such brilliance, the last verse was incredible, but the line that stood out for me was-Where thoughts turn to ice and precipitate forever

that closing line is one of the most gently heartrending things I've read for some time. I love the imagery and thoughts provoked by the third stanza, too... Beautiful write; truly.

  • A former member wrote: I am incapable of emotion any further than this...you've summed me up, in your frailty of words. I am utterly at a loss.
