Thanks for the Aderol, Hope to Hear From You Soon
By XCryingMinotaurX
I did not want to go.
I wanted to sit and drink myself into oblivion.
Smoke my insides dry and wallow in my own self misery.
I did not want to go.
But I went.
One.
two..
three...
drinks in me and not a word spoken.
We laugh and make conversation but who are these people?
I did not want to go.
But I went.
Eyes blinked twice and whiplash from a double take.
A crust punk with piercings and tattoos to boot.
Tough Boston accent and a demanding demeanor.
Great humor with a better smile and eyes that swallow hole.
I did not want to go.
But I went.
Club closed and pale faces scattered.
one.pill
two..bowls
three...glasses
hour upon hour
I did not want to go.
But I went.
A night to remember as my new fixation laughed on.
Trying to pinpoint this gutter punk boy's mind.
Looking like Donnie Darko, hair like Edward Scissorhand's.
Accent straight out of "Good Will Hunting" and attitude like GG Allen's.
Beloved skateboard in one hand and his entire world in his other.
Memories of past loves and lovers are nowhere in sight.
I did not want to go.
But I went.
Digits exchanged and names written in blood red ink.
Smiles crossed and he asked me to join his future.
Into my truck and back to where we met only hours before.
Sun rising behind Interstate 95 and the chill air a faint reminder of winter.
6am in Rhode Island and we made blind promises but was he as smitten with
me as I was with him?
He took my hand and kissed it, unlike a gutter punk and now total gentleman.
I did not want him to go.
But off into the sunrise he went.
