Sonata de Lacrimas

By Spiritus_Frumenti

All I feel,
...nerve endings of detachment
Cold departures into obscurity
An unknown, far too real
Too much for this fragile world to hold
-
Tell me, my friend,
Of those sun rays beating against my eyes
Does it know about life?
Does it know about fate?
-
Tell me, my friend,
Of those winged birds in the sky
Do they know about love?
Do they know about hate?
-
Tell me, my dearest friend,
Of those illuminating spots in the night
Does it ever wonder why it’s so dark?
Does it ever dream to escape....?

Darkly hypnotic from start to finish, yet straightforward and simple for a poem of such power.

Beautifully rendered, stunningly played out. Truly a sonata for the opressed and those suffering the tedius nightmare of day by day take what may...
