Winter's Funeral

By Spiritus_Frumenti

Candlelight flames,
Dancing on the walls
Speaking of,
Farewells and desolation
-
Forlorn by the waves of silence
A death will approach
Only by the scent
My blood will flow again
Awakened forces of will
Inviting a sudden epiphany
That my time is now here
-
In these moments,
My soul escapes me
To much colder places
Where I cannot love
Where I cannot feel,
A single warm tear
Or any familiar faces
-
In this way I say goodbye,
To the flowers that bloom in spring
To the birds that glide in the wind
To the lakes that always stand so still
Where I have left all of my reflections...

A beautiful way to leave your mark. The cycles of life including comings and goings. I can appreciate retracing your footprints. Nicely done.

the scene here you set was amazing, the spiritual imagery, the sense as if cold steel was carving your soul, and those last two lines where just aweingly beautiful, another masterful work to enter my faves as are you
