I stare at the front page,
I keep checking the gauge......
but still there's nothin'!
I draw a new sketch,
I hit the refresh......
but still there's nothin'!
I start up a new chat,
I figure it's my turn to bat......
but still there's nothin'!
I check for new mail,
maybe it was a sale......
but still there's nothin'!
I send out the call,
come one, come all......
but still there's nothin'!
This seems of nonsense,
I check for comments......
but still there's nothin'!
Full were these places,
I search familiar faces......
but still there's nothin'!
Why did everybody go?
please tell me it ain't so......
but still there's nothin'!

Dark poetry looks like it's asleep on its side......
It needs to wake up, I came back here to slide!

It'll be 18 years since I joined come 6th September 2024. This place has done absolute wonders for my inspiration and creativity. Despite the sometimes long and protracted quiet periods, thankfully this place never truly dies.

Sad but true, so many fond memories wrapped up in this place, it saved me during a relatively dark period of my life. Come February, I'll have been a member here for 14 years. I can't speak for everybody, but situations change I guess, I wanted to write but poetry was the last thing on my mind these past few years. It sucks, like I'm betraying some foundational aspect of myself. But I'm glad there are still people keeping this place alive.

It hasn't been quite 14 years for me, but I did join in August of 2013, so it's more than 10. That was the last I was in a dark place, it saved me back then as well. Unfortunately, I'm back for another helping it would seem. I suppose I will have to reestablish my place here within these pages once more. Thanks for the comment on my little jab at what use to be. At least the activity on here seems to be up from a few weeks ago, maybe I lit a small fire, one can hope...for a little while anyways...........................~Ace~
