Plastic Poets

By Chameleon

I must have accidentally
stumbled into the 'cool crowd'...

I'm done with the high school
yearbook autographs (comments).
I'm done with the fashion show critics.
Since when did love notes, friendship letters,
become the model for exceptional poetry?
I've seen the good leave
and the bad stay...things are gonna change.
I've thought about leaving...
but instead I'm coming back in force...
like 8 mile,
except I'm gonna make you walk 16...
I'm sick of the brown nosers, comment whores,
fake suicidals, spotlighters...things are gonna change.
If you don't like me- I don't give a shit...
more importantly, if you don't like me poetry...
even better.

you
can
have
your
comments
back

you
can
take
me
off
your
favorites

you
can
unbookmark
my works...

It's up to you...

But don't use me
or my work
as a battlefield
for your social insecurities...

The Chameleon has shed its skin once again,

POETRY JOCKS AND CHEERLEADERS: you represent everything that artists, musicians,
poets and artistic minded individuals despise...
you represent everything artificial, and worthless to our fucked up little world...

congratulations,
there's another comment for your yearbook...

This worthless piece of scrap paper will self-destruct in 2 days.

It is one thing to except that they will always exist, it is another to "accept" their intentions. And their intentions is where "plastic" si defined, not the quality. Their intentions are like plastic, a cheap alternative that's bad for the environment

i really liked this, but people have to accept that there will be "plastics" no matter where you go...and who defines plastic? its a great piece on paper, but its doesn't work in the brain.

yes this is the honest truth i remember how dp was before it became a popularity contest back when a person's comment was true and it wasnt made in hopes that their popularity would increase, well spoken piece

  • A former member wrote: i know how you feel...it's one of the reasons I don't post poetry here as much anymore....good rant and good for you for having the balls (or estrogen, whatever the case may be) to say this.

  • A former member wrote: oh and screw all of you who said we should just let the plastic poets stay and destroy our refuge. The whole point of this place was so that people like us could have a place untainted by plastic people and their plastic lives and their drama drama drama

  • A former member wrote: and when I say destroy I mean by mocking our pain with their "poor me poor me Daddy didn't by me a gucci bag to match my new corvette" fuck them

Anyway, this is a stupid piece of work, and its not poetry at all. It is the result of being pissed off (like most rants). I'm not going to waste my words making these types of points anymore but it is sad that a site I love as much as this one could in
