Path to Gehenna
By Silver Spectre
(I dont know if this is finished yet. My idea was to talk about a man on
death row and what caused him to become a monster and so forth..and of
course have regret. I dont talk of spcifics just images i try to place.
Feel free to leave comments on what you think)
Collecting
all my thoughts together
I made my entrance into the passageway
That led to where I soon must follow
The time for which was judgment
day
There is not much in this world
I thought I would miss
All I saw was what I wanted
Nothing to make me say I needed this
Never was there a wish for tomorrow
I tasted their fruit
that turned into wine
I knelt at the banks of their river
Inhaled
their dirt that corrupted my mind
I heard a voice say
“Stay
out of the water and die as a sinner”
With outstretched
arms and eyes
I once reached for the illusion of the cover of love
In the closet, in the basement, in the cellar
In the light of
the darkest mind but never above
She did not hear my calling and
spring
Forth to me in the nakedness of winter
She left me there
for my eyes to freeze
My heart to stumble, to fall, to wither
Fierce comes this wind that blows from my anger
To dust
fall my heart and fuck all the tender
I will make me a sword as soft
as a feather
Mold me with something that will never surrender
I am the maker of flames the sculpture of stone
The figure in
the corner at the threshold of Gehenna
The speaker of jests with
the vilest intentions
The consumer of souls in their rose petal dimensions
Then what is this swell in the corners of my eyes
This
day of execution weeps of sorrow
My leering persona consuming its
last victim
As I walk down the corridor knowing I’ll die
Remembrance often brought with it a thickness
So enveloping
when you found yourself falling under
It would never let you die
or hit to hard
But never let you forget as you came asunder
See my silhouette on the wall
See the lights dance into illusional
forms
Like a waterfall watching the rain
Tears roll down infecting
its stream
I am the beggar of nothing and the giver of pain
But here I am the folly of a man
The last laugh saved for those
Who follow the same

It's amazing how poems like these don't get many comments. And this was truly one of kind. I don't know how I missed it. I think it's excellent.
