Pity

By Mistress Shadow

I was held so far away
And yet whenever that shoulder was needed
I was always close.
When the world was dark
And no one understood
One held light and fought
To find me.
Tears turned
To those of dried up streams
Whenever that one was speaking to me.
Now they have shunned me
And I am left to fight them alone.
I have only the one thing to say
Pity.
