Sunset of my Heart

By midnights voice

Sunset of my Heart

Let love's sunset into my heart
with sullen greys tinged in pink
with last rays of warmth
before there comes the chill

Let the last breath of fulfillness
ease around my heart and
take away the sunny memories softly
as the light fades away

Fading fast empty embraces and
kisses that have no taste
as softly whispered "I love you"
fall into the Atlantic sea

Come nightnness . . .
surround my empty heart
console my ache with care
so come now , sunset of my heart

Reminiscence of a life well-lived with few regrets I'd guess MV. Lovely thoughts after a sumptuous meal. Check please! and cheers my friend - Dan (where's the dessert? :)

The heart must beat on,on, on, and on especially when it is at its darkest. It doesn't seem to care what we think.

I really like this on many levels. It conveys a calm and peace to a weary soul. The seemingly serene rhythms written in beguiled me into a false sense of contentment. ...but, If I have read this correctly, it seems someone is taking their one life gratefully. enjoyed this immensely. Well done.
