cardboard requiem

By The Lipstick Factor

i am today
the woman scorned
gleefull relish; this lousy summer
mother nature has seenĀ
fit to rain
on your parade
and in this wet
a lessened risk
of running into you
with her on the backĀ
of our motorcyle

i am yesterday
miscalculating boxes
more than i imagined

i am the day after tomorrow
an unknown reaction;
you will come here
and take away
four years
doesn't unfit neatly
or pack easily
choler and sorrow
strewn amongst
this cardboard requiem

i am today
pacing
palpitating
an estranged ritual
wet
kinetic
tactile
in unletting go
