A Girl I Know (A Girl in Love)

By Eadgar Anton Crowe

She has music in her hair and novels in her eyes
And when she cries, her tears are for a character that died
She wears indoor sweaters because its cold outside
And when the leaves fall yellow and red
She finally leaves her bed
To find adventure in life

She wanders through the trees
And dances to the sounds around
Of me breaking the pinecones' bones
And the wind that winds about

Her heart is a mess and I do my best to keep her calm
But somedays the world is too cruel
So I hold her head and carry her to her room

As she picks a book for me to read out loud

She'll pick the same book every time
Because its the one I wrote last night
For her

Its about all the things I see in the sky
And how they relate to my love
About the worms in the dirt
And how they die when it rains
But also how the spider chases the fly
And it sometimes gets away

About how home is of people made
And where your heart and head lay

A skillful piece. It is not often, and in fact rare, that I read something that captures my attention. A great read... Not used lightly.
