Empty

By BloodyMercy

Soft rain falling from the sky
Filling me with discord tonight
Feeling and seeing all that is true
I am filled with a decadence previously unheard
I am feeling the destruction of yours

Twisted apparitions of angst and misery
Ripping through my skin
Clawing at my mind
Leaving me with nothing but hindsight
And trepidation of days to come

Blackened vacant eyes
Portend the story of horror
The dismal truth in which we live
This body is mangled and hollow
A husk of that which was.

I have a pretty vivid image of a person writhing in pain in front of a black, wet window up until the third stanza. "Blackened vacant eyes". That's a sure sign that someone is empty inside. Good stuff!

I don't tend to read other's poetry too much. I start most poems but I rarely finish because after a certain length I get bored. (I have a terribly short attention span) But this was what it should have been; it was not short nor was it long. It was simply beautiful .
