Contagion's Breath Blown Pestilence

By Dimensions

Contagion's breath blown pestilence,
Of those with blood,
Beneath their nails,
And bearded ,
Lip less,
Laughter floats,
Like viral currents -
Aloft sails,
To virgin shores,
Ripe for raping,
Where gods eyes do turn away,
And grant his emissaries plunder,
Planting crosses ,
Squatters stay,
Tossing to the beach,
Below,
From their ramparts those they deem,
Subhuman - falling,
Without screams,
The plummet slows,
As though a dream.

Billowing ocean waters make,
Soft pillows there upon the sands,
Where native corpses,
Final rest,
Forgotten faces -
Outstretched hands,
Bodies wave like stripes on flags,
With each tide that rushes inwards,
Mothers strewn,
Among their children,
For perching,
Watching,
Hungry birds,
Whose greedy eyes,
From holes do hunt,
High up on the palisades,
Then all at once like waterfalls,
Dive speckled,
Feathered,
Clawed cascades,
To tip toe there among the sleeping,
Tasting at their softest parts,
Tearing,
Pulling,
Snipping,
Snapping,
With bellies full -
The flock departs,
Darkness then descends as curtains,
Moonlight glazes over them,
Cosmic spangled,
Sky's reflection,
Resembling stars -
Night's diadem.

This reminds me of so many places and times with historical fact . From the slaughter of the Aborigines by English settlers in Australia to Roman emporors .

"Lipless" was definitely a whoa moment as this took a darker turn Dime. What would we do without those scavengers keeping the roads and beaches clean of carrion. Striking vision here with world events and all - cheers! - Dan

Thank you Creatureofthenight, I usually write from experiences cloaked in metaphors, or in this case from studying the history of my ppl and the genocide by colonizing countries and religions, and that is the story I tell here. Thanks for recognizing that.
