Inner Truth
By Shikiryu
Damn,
I feel suffocated,strangled, eviscerated, emasculated, decapitated, desicated,
I feel like my life's a flickering flare surrounded by a dark abyss,
each spark of happiness dulls in intensity;
Light repels me.
I struggle to hold on, daring not to succumb to the urge.
But how can I resist the alluring glare of darkness?
It beckons to me, summons my very being,
It illuminates my soul, It lights up my very essence.
I am Darkness and Darkness is Me.

I really hope that some how your feelings change as time goes by, not as specific as I was hoping but, I'm pleasantly dissapointed. Very well done.

I'm drawing a lot of parallels to my past self, I too had a sort of kinship with the dark, I felt untouchable there, I suppose. I liked some of the diction used in this piece, something about it simply struck all the right chords. Nurture your talent, and stay awhile.

True, but if you still compare your life to fire then there's light still. Make the darkness your fuel; and what rises from the explosion may be darker as well... but also embodied in fire of renaissance. Live for your art but most for yourself.
