Mass Hallucinosis
By Natternes
Since times pre-Jung
We have corrupted the young
Teaching philistine doctrines of greed
With the fear of wrath
From dei-psychopaths
We've made wounds of humanity bleed
Traditional disorders
Evolved from believes that border
On mass hallucinosis
Feed the underlying psychosis
Of a range of human hosts
Chewing on histories ghosts
And the root cause of all this
Is hope of unadulterated bliss
Which ignores the basic wolf in man
To control him with fear
We predicted not the mere
Underlings that could hatch a plan
To destroy the gods above
Fit humanity like a three fingered glove
And we burn down the churches in earnest
Of course the groups that riot
Couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery
And so smile the ones with eyes like a furnace
So interestingly fear is a blanket
Which could suffocate the people that rank it
If we strived for a rewrite of history
And restructured the fear
Reworking the words
Rewriting perception
For even all truths are but myths

What a dipicting piece with a wide-range of chasms. I would have to say that it reminds me of "A Clockwork Orange" which I find to be a brilliant work for its era. Self-made poisons swimming through a host playing the part as a human, I'm intrigued. There are so many elements to this piece that make it fascinating. I love the abstract imagery and the shunned silence as if it's only an illusion. You, sir have stolen my attention. That being written, hello there poet and welcome to the valley. -TG

Your philosophical voice is sternly wise. I always looked at fear as being a defense mechanism in some cases, and just simply crippling mind-sets ingrained in us to in other cases just to keep us in line, to control the chaos. Without these would it not be nothing more than primitive chaos? Written or otherwise. Great thought provoker. Thanks for sharing.
