a painting hangs itself

a rock shifting
of it's own will
rolling towards
a stream that
flows against
its nature
around trees
growing more
into the earth
than the sky

|
mountain peaks
stretching towards
the core of the world
and starry nights
enveloping fractures
of a multi-verse
containing but a
fraction of space
yet surrounding all
with it's vast depths
|
|
a painting hangs
on the cold floor
seen from the wall
yet not the ceiling
as the sense of
nonsensical senses
overwhelms the
artist's strokes
and the frame frames
a mirror instead

"overwhelms the artist's strokes and the frame frames a mirror instead " - I love that line especially! I was just reading something last night that had a quote that went something like 'everything an artist chooses to paint is really a self-portrait'. I like the notion. Ciao, T/S
