She is my eternal companion, my best friend
thru this world and so many more
now how do I tell her all that I feel
about all that powerful love deep in my core ?

I could jazz it up with pastel poetry
even give in to the cliche kind of fluff
because to simply say " I love you "
just doesn't seem to be enough

It's a phrase that is so overly used
so casually tossed around
the intensity and beauty of it's value
is the same as gold that's never found

and just as pure, precious and rare as that gold
she means the same to me
they call it the game of love
but her love was never a game to me

so now I search for unique words
that can truly express how I feel
but after swimming thru oceans of letters
nothing else sounds like the real deal

I guess those three simple little words
so used and misused will have to do
I know the real power is in the overall feel
when you say or hear, " I love you " . . .
