Beautiful Premonition
By Sean Mc Shane
I awoke in the midst
of the wayward dream
as it cracked apart, slowly drifting
like sheets of ice on a tranquil stream
jumping from one slab to the next
I tried to bring it all back together
surrounded by every shade of black
that were as thick as heavy leather
hopeless and abandoned by my creativity
I saw a distant field of deep shamrocks
there was nothing left there for me
something placed it back in It's box
I tried not to shed a single tear
wondering if I had actually died
so I held what little breath I had
then slowly slid off to the side
Again, into another world of Nothing
trying to swim to something, anything
loosely clinging to a drifting season
Winter had made it's way into Spring
I found myself lying on the thick grass
my head propped against a marble stone
my name was stylishly carved in it
the only real thing I truly own
staring up at a colorless sky
I could only agree that it was bright
first time I saw the Sun and Moon
making the same brilliant light
Musical Spirits began to play
the melody told me not to worry
and soon I'd know even more
but I was not in any hurry
wondering just how I would go
Quietly ? Or violently resisiting ?
when this world is done with you
there is no point to persisting
no one will be there to answer
the constant question as to why
then I thought I saw her there
dancing away from my open eye
I called her name a thousand times
as she strolled around a sharper bend
realizing once and for all
she's just not there, again
feeling like the void I'm drifting in
emptiness is a beautiful state
I envy the dead who know nothing
and to me, that's just Great

Spiritual, musically, madly approached. We're walking in the brink of madness, along the edge of the void. Awesome.

Every time I read your writes, all I can think is Wow. You always take us on a mysterious journey within the mind's universes, yet, with just the right dosage of madness. Those carved stones are truly all that we really own. Love this on so many levels. Thanks for sharing :)
