Le sourire de la sagesse disparaît

By Eric

Ashes as snow
Falling down

A single tear
On palest cheek

A single fear
So far behind

Living pain
Fades to ceasing numb

Last light
A narrow sliver
Dim horizon

Oblivion
Embrace, dear friend

Sophia...
This is the end

For life can
No longer mend

Sophia
Divine, I adore

Sophia
Her gasping heart

One last beat
All falls apart...

Sophia
Life breathes no more

Heartbreaking but captured in such beautiful staccato language, tragedy becomes a treasure to keep in poetic form.
