The Real Man

By poe_lover28

Cant you see?
Beneath his skin?
Its only me?
Well lets begin..

hes sweet and smart, all around bright
he lies in the shadows, away from light
he does not know, the real him is great
instead he drinks, shows off, and stays out late

he would not dream to show the Real Man
someone accept him? he doesn't believe they can
he locks away his true colors,
believes he will be judged by others

But theres one girl, to which he exposes
to the rest of the world, all an act, picture poses
he knows this girl would never judge
but his mind, it just will not budge

he continues hiding beneath his mask
she wonders why but never will ask
finally she tells him hes amazing, to show the real him!
he says she is the only one he will let in

its funny to think in only one day
you meet a person, life goes another way
the day he spoke to me, i changed forever
because i know the Real Him and others will never

I like this one quite allot. Every one needs you, that one person to confide instead of hide, able to be open instead of locked shut. We should all be so fortunate. I sense you must have a heart the size of the galaxie Milky Way. I am finding your poetry most enjoyable and am looking forward to readng more of your work. Sorry if my comments are a bit lengthy at times.......I don't usually post at all unless I have something to say....

What's wrong with nationalism anyway? Pride in one's country? You can always delete an unwelcome comment darling. Hopefully the offender will soften his political-oriented agenda, but then extreme liberalism is a mental disorder (and any attempts at reasoning will be akin to arguing with a drunk in a bar, and I should know!) Cheers!
