The Kitchen
By Deathkitten
Women
In the kitchen
Now that's the place
I want to be
No
Not me
Wearing an apron
I can cook
I can clean
I learned from mom
Some from gran
And on TV
But the kitchen
Is not my destiny
I do not live in one place
I will not act
As if I have no other choice
I won't stand in one place
At the stove
Preparing your meals all day
With legs aching
From waking
To fry you bacon
A migraine
From worrying over dinner
Or ironing your shirts
And folding mounds of clothes
Stacking & washing piles of silverware, plates & bowls
No
That is not me
I may be a woman
But that is never "My Place"
In the kitchen
Slaving away
Neck growing sore & pulled tight
I will rebel
I will fight
It's no place for me
And that is my right
I'll call on equality
I'll lend a helping hand
But staying in the kitchen
Makes life a bit too bland
So i'll say it again
Kitchen
There's other places i'd rather be

YES, you tell 'em, be strong, be loud, be proud, be a good little girl and get that cute ass over here and make me a sandwich... JUST KIDDING. nice one, one of your best ones I think since I don't have to rack my simple brain to get it.
