The Lost Poet

As I reside in my world of grey,
Life goes on day by day.

Things will never change,

Nothing can be erased.

Please help me if you can,

But do you give a damn?

This little girl that I am,

This little girl that I was.

I’m crying out on the inside,

I can’t get my cries through,

I feel like I could die,

Everyone is so crude.

These words are so forced,

I am so lost.

I am a poet who has lost her voice,

I cannot write like I had in the past.

My emotions are distorted,

I am going insane,

Within the confines of this brain,

Things have been touched by a taint.

Evil resides in my soul,

Please do not go!

I need you here, 

I need your help.

I need you near.

I’m helpless,

Can anyone hear my cries,

Does anyone know that I died?

I’m lost in my small world of grey,

I will never get out.

I just can’t seem to find my way,

This is my reality.
