Iris

By freudian-slip

For time is a blip on the screen
yet there she is
and remains
graceful as a swan
feather dripped with delicacy
silken kindness
asking not for more of what has been
but for only a chance
of
what
is
to
come

and there he sits
not only by her side
solid
by her call
timeless compassion
asking not of her what she cannot give
but for only a chance
for one more minute
of
her
to
love
