one night stand.

By jodeanna

She radiated
 a sense of
  insatiable hunger.

Her wide eyes were
deep, caramel waters.
 Their inviting warmth
  hid the creature that
   lurked near the bottom.

His oblivious nature
caused him to mistake
 the sight of her
  licking her lips as a
   sign of love for him.

Fingertips brushed
across naked skin
 quickly, roughly
  in an attempt to
   capture the flame.

Tongues danced
across tanned highways
 of freckled skin
  tasting the salty
   result of passion.

In the pale rays
of morning sunlight,
 he awoke reaching
  for the lover
   who wasn't there.

On a busy highway,
three towns away,
 she drove aimlessly,
  feeling far too empty
   even for tears.

Jo, this is excellent, the mystery is enticing. in a few stanzas, you define a woman w/a very complicated persona...
