Prologue
By Melancholic VIncent
Memories taken away by Time
Which fled like a thief
With my innocence
and youth
Smothered in a greedy bag
All that remains
Are
the reminiscence scattered around in the woods
Like crumbs that lead
me to my doom
I traced a cathartic swath in dormant footsteps
Roaming in empty purpose mirroring a past tense
Now, unrecognizable
in a faraway gaze
Recollections delible fingerprinted in hourglass
sands
Bathed by waves that tumble castles of thoughts
Only
in the asperity and arrogance of the unshakeable rock
I found haven
where Time doesnt corrode and memory doesn't forget
Carved in wisdom
solitude of a sempeternal memorial

The rocks do remember, a challenging read but we need that on occasion, especially when the payoff was worth it, thanks Mel.

If we carve things in rock they'll remain there forever. I am sorry if the poem is a little hard to understand. Your comments are always welcome Dan
