Beauty Bruises

By Dragonfly

 Her beauty was a flower
Not yet in full bloom
Her heart held all the power
To make her dreams come true

He loved her withe a fire
He loved her on a whim
His lust was always dire
When it came to skin on skin

She was mamma's little angel
Stayed away from sin
But her path would soon be strangled
When she fell in love with him

The ways that he would mark her
To let them know she's "mine"
The ways that he would stalk her
Never gave her time

He was in love with that church girl
Prayed to the sound of her name
Never knew another world
When it was gone he went insane

She sits alone with bruisees
And eats her morning brunch
When she comes home latter
She will meet a drunkard's punch

Midnght stars andshiny cars
Isall sheneeded to love
Midnightstars seem so far
When her life is now  above.

Thanks for this brutal slice of life, we grow older and wiser, and sadly more damaged, cheers!

...you might say the appearance of the final stanza reflects her annihilation...
