Her last words

By darling93demon

Her soul withers away,
Day after day,
As she struggles on
And paints a smile on her face,
To pretend everythings okay.

She forces her grin,
Inside shes wearing thin,
From all the pain,
The fears and the lost,
And having no one to turn to.

When she gets home,
And shes all alone,
She falls to her knees,
In her empty house,
And cries until she falls asleep.

Too many years,
Of sorrow and tears,
Have broken her spirit,
And weakened her body.
She feels nothing but sadness.

She used to pray,
At the end of each day,
For someone different,
Or something great.
But she has lost all her faith.

All she ever wanted,
Was to no longer be haunted,
By the dispair and the betrayal
Of the countless men and women
Who had beaten her down.

Not wanted by her family...
Never to be happy...
She has no one to stay string for.
No children or friends,
What reason has she to live?

The morning arrives,
She opens her dreary eyes,
And knows this will be the day.
She gathers a few pieces of paper,
And a purple pen.

"To all those i love,
Im sorry this day has come.
Im sorry i wasnt good enough
For anyone, For anything.
I really did try my best, to make you all proud.
And although it never worked,
I hope you atleast appreciated my efforts.
I will watch you from above,
I will keep you all safe.
Even though it wasnt mutual,
I truly love you all so much.
I just wish i could have been good enough...
For atleast one of you.
After hearing nothing but harsh words,
And cruel comments,
I can no longer live.
I did my best.
Im sorry...."

She marks it with her name
And the tears that had strayed.
She grabs a rope from the shed,
And ties it to the staircase banister.
She sings to herself
the song her mother used to sing to her
when she was a child,
and when she was once loved:

"you are my sunshine
my only sunshine
you make me happy
when skies are gray...."

She ties the other end
Around her fair skinned neck,
And sits herself down the railing.
She says her last farewells,
And imagines that they can hear her say it.
She rises to her feet
And looks down,
And finishes her song
As she watches her tears
Fall to the floor so far away from her:

"you'll never know how
how much i loved you...
please dont take..."

She takes a deep breath
" my sunshine..."
And she steps off the edge.
And she smiles.
"....away."
