Untitled for a Reason

By Dragonfly

As translucent as an oceans waves

Elementary like child's play

Suddenly you left that day

And the whole world went from rainbows

to multiple shades of grey.

And I sat under our Willow Tree.

Singing the songs you taught.

Then one day that Willow Tree.

Slowly began to rot.

I screamed I cried, how stupid was I?

I now lost you once again.

In its place grew a rose

with thorns as sharp as glass.

Cutting me and reminding me

of our broken past.

My memories now live on,

but one day they will fade

As will my love.

I love the imagery, the symbols were a little tame but you used them well. I liked this poem but I felt it was lacking a little originality.. Reminded me of the wind, blowing through the willows, eventually dispersing and gone. Nice piece!
