-A Tiger's Stare-

By sTr8-jAcKeT

Do you know what it means,
To stop dead in your tracks?
Feeling a closeness,
That's colder than wax.

As you step down a path,
That you think is alright.
You've crossed a thin line,
You're well in their sight.

And seconds before,
Your life starts to flash.
You can hear the grass part,
As that of a sash.

Within just a moment,
Under heat of the sun.
It now stands before you,
Awaiting the run.

But it's that look in their eye,
The cold stare of death.
A scent of fresh blood,
On wind from their breath.

As you say your last prayer,
You can hear a faint cry.
You now know the reason,
Yet still wonder why.

She takes up a stance,
You now see her cub.
As lead to eraser,
Life's gone in a rub.

Author's Note:

This is an older piece of mine from my last year of high school years back. Wanted to write in honor of the beautiful Tiger; and a mother who was just defending her baby. Victim of circumstance, but aimed @ being written beautifully. Hope you enjoy.

You aimed at it being beautifully written, and by god if you didn't hit the nail right on the head. Brava. A beautiful tribute to a fascinating feline with mesmerizing eyes. Very nicely done. Again bro, brava!!

Rest assured that the feelings are mutual. I am sorry though that I don't get around much to commenting on more of your works. Hopefully, I will improve on this. But in the mean while, just know that I do read and enjoy your works and savor every word of them;)
