Sunflower Rd

By Dei

From rolling hills to chiseled mountain
Atop red stained peaks, scented winds burn my cheeks
And I somehow always forget blue-green sage
And how it looks like waves crashing wild and unburdened
Somehow I always forget sunflowers
And how they dance
So optimistically towards a brighter Dei
Till scorched and withered they fall away.
Somehow I always remember Her
And how she would never not notice something beautiful
And the way her smile brought the world to life
Till one day she just couldn't grin and bear you anymore.
Somehow I'll never forget the way she died
Much the way she tried so hard to live
Crushed in your cold and distant arms

Until she fell withered upon a gravel road leading to no-where.

such beautiful imagery, the way the sunflowers dance, I like the use of brighter Dei, I reminds me of a kind chi. I goes from happy to deep when the smile fades... Ahh you are so tallented.

Abandonment can be the hardest cross of all to bear. Always wondering and never knowing for sure. Suspect he got a better deal? - and now there is no going back. Selfish and self-centered; be glad he's gone.
