Sing a Sweet Song

By Quietus

La la la la la, we sing.

The sorrow of a story

Sang from deep within.

I’m so hurt and broken inside

I sing it soft

From words I try to hide.

Laying in my final resting place

Say you’re goodbyes,

Dress me in lace.

So that all can see me as beautiful

Not some girl

Who was sad and dull.

But I am not the same girl

From within this cherry-wood coffin,

My soul has been lost and utterly forgotten.

I try to follow its sweet, sad song

But as I feared

It’s already gone.

So we will continue to sing this eerie song

For we are stuck here,

We cannot move on.

La la la la la, we sing

The story of agony

Sang from deep within.
