Dead Rainbows

By Malcholm Dark

Dead-city weekend
Large, black parking lot lies empty.

Howling ghost-winds blow
Random oil spots stain the asphalt.

Mostly clouded skies
A sudden burst of rain erupts.

Dancing rain on black
Oil, dust and rain rise undaunted.

Clouds open above
Sunlight fills up the parking lot.

Pouring rain rescinds
Nature then regales the senses.

Mother and daughter
Enjoying their walk together.

Innocence so wise
The daughter points to an oil spot.

"Mommy look, a dead rainbow."

what this guy said... and he is not a dp scholar... but I still enjoy that image, such a clear insight, startling really, what the eyes of children see. Thanks again.

An oil stained rainbow, a grim and beautiful image. The symbol of innocence, smudged, and darkened. You never cease to impress, write onward. Scholar
