PTSD
By SulaMoon
Dark and twisted evinces
In my encephalon, do they dance
Swirling, twirling verses
They’ll take over, if half the chance
Thoughts of death
Thoughts of pain
Thoughts of drugs
And suicide
Yearning for them to cease to exist
Before homicide abides
Revolving, evolving verses
Skipping through my head
I beg for peace and sanity
Before I wind up dead
Blood…
Sweet crimson wine
Let it flood, let it run wild
Frenzied massacres
Makes me feel like a giddy child
No stop!
I can’t reminisce this way
What would people think
I should halt these deadly thoughts
With another drink
Death
Destruction
Mayhem
Are quickly taking hold
No one knows what’s wrong with me
And the future is untold
So for now I’ll write these lyrical words
On parchment and with pen
While darkness envelops me slowly
As I hide within my den
Author's Note:
I woke up one night with gunfire ringing in my head. The images of war still fresh in my mind, then this came to me. A broken man fresh out of the military, trying to fit in to today's society. This dream was after some reading works from Winter Born.Comments on "PTSD"

To alleviate your concerns, I see nothing in this that might be taken from my work. though the overall tone reminds me heavily of "A plea to old soldiers, and the young alike." or "An ode to war" just tone, no worries of plagiarism.

It really confirms the saying, "Once you're in war it never ends." We really need to pay our respects to the individuals who suffer through those horrific times. Thank you for sharing all of your works thus far =)
