True Friend
By SulaMoon
It’s sad when depression sets in
When there’s nothing you can
do
And you feel nothing but sin.
Your heart feels heavy
Your head feels crowded
And whatever you do
You still
feel so clouded.
The day feels dull
And the night fills
with dread
When the pillow is cradled beneath your head.
You wait for some sign
And wait for some relief
As you hide
yourself
Within your sheets.
Dreading for the morning
light to fill your room
When all you feel in your heart is doom.
You put on faces amongst your friends
Hoping this regret and pain
soon ends.
The anxiety you feel each day
The thoughts
of sorrow you attempt to keep at bay.
Remembering what it felt
like as an innocent child,
Years so long ago when life felt more
mild.
Some day this throbbing and aching will end
When
within yourself you find a true friend.

A true friend within yourself? The only true mate... yes I see. He or she is as shy as you are. You have to invite her or him gently, with love.
Thank you,

Brilliant account of depression and its rotten grip on the soul...Love those closing lines loaded with hope.
