My Ugly Green Head
By Malcholm Dark
Depression...
A wicked serpent from the underworld
Awakened, it rears it's
ugly green head.
There's not enough vision within my soul
That keeps this monster from taking over.
Or simply put, when
I'm taken it's like
Dr. Seuss and Charles Perault on heroin.
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
Depression releases
the Grinch in me
Yelling and screaming for all to see
This Kat
in the hat longs to be free.
No more tong-tinglers
No
more jang-jinglers
No more rung-ringlers.
And at the very
least
No more silly roast beast!
As our mental health begins
to fail
We say adios to the fairy tale
Have a happily ever after
sale.
No more fairy godmothers here
No more poisoned apples
to fear
No more boots on cats to cheer.
And at the very
least
The evil queen shall feast!
Somewhere within this
malaise and sham
I eat a plate of green eggs and ham
With Cindy
Lou Who and Sam I am.
I do not like the Middle East
I
do not like the Catholic priest
I do not like to be policed.
And at the very, very least
I do not like my hate unleashed!
Just tap the pipe, remove the ash
Then reach into that hidden
stash
Now fill it up with rare Who hash.
No more mental
strain
No more mental pain
No more self disdain.
And
finally, at the very least
We temporarily cage the beast!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Witness the fool in
chains crawl by
That fool is me, I live the lie.

haha! Perfection in verse.. Dr Seuss is envious.... the weave of seussian references and reality with that nagging weight that drags us down.... just a wonderful mixture/tapestry and read. Fun stuff.... well composed. Thanks for the smiles, man :) *lights up*

A fine self-healing write, a kind of affirmation. I'll try to use this approach!

I think deep inside, there's a Grinch in everyone. An ugly green head waiting to rear itself at the most inopportune moment. Dr. Seuss never sounded so dark and dismal, write on my friend.
