Sweet Relief
By SulaMoon
I await salvation
looking through Heaven's door
for the hourglass
will run out of sand
before I hurt no more
I dream of death
to kill the pain
to have some peace
for a time again
wishing it were yesterday
when
I didn't feel this way
Aching...
feeling of burning
flesh
this heaviness upon my chest
these bones feel like
they are broken
all I wish to do is rest
to close
my eyes
to drift to sleep
for I await you, sweet relief
please take this pain away from me
take it from my core
please take this pain away from me
so I may live once more
still, I await salvation
looking through Heaven's door
for the hourglass
will run out of sand
before I hurt
no more
the suffering I claim each day
as I lay
here on the floor
I await you sweet relief
to kiss me forevermore
please take this pain away from me
take it from my core
please take this pain away from me
so I may live once more
through existing with such agony
and clear thought escapes
my mind
I only think of you, relief,
as the venom runs
down my spine
but I'm forced to face the truth
to never
be like the rest of you
free from sadness, free from
pain,
free from suffering...to live again
please
take this pain away from me
take it from my core
please
take this pain away from me
so I may live once more
tearing, gnawing, twisting, aching
like shards of glass within
my veins
why can't this be taken from me
why can't
pain be kept at bay
so, I'm left here with salvation
looking back through Heaven's door
for the hourglass has run
out of sand
and now I hurt no more

Thank you, everyone. I suffer from sever Fybromialgia, caused by numerous accidents, abusive relationships, etc..., and the pain gets so bad that I can't stand it. When I was on a 3 day excruciating pain trip, I wrote this. The repeated mantra going through my head. I hope that no one has to go through anything like this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this piece, despite it having a sad tone I thought it was very well written. I feel as though I appreciate it all the more because it rhymed and most of my own work rhymes as well. Thank you for sharing such an amazing write with us here on DP =)
