A World Without

By Rowan

My soul turns black as your steps fade away,
an eternal abyss grasps my broken heart.
A wish upon a star-crossed love to stay
as the heart beats slow
                                             and then depart.

Whispering passions in a lover's ear
and resting in the blue of night's cover.
Softly soothing away my deepest fears,
a beautiful angel of mine
                                               and no other.

Follow me into a forest of peaceful sleep,
sail over mountains into clouds of light.
Promise the stars and the moon that weeps
for a love torn asunder
                                           in the dead of night.

Losing love is the greatest loss of all,
my eyes swim with your sweet kiss of love.
It was not our choice of fate I recall,
but a will of another
                                      in Heaven above.

We will meet again on swift wings,
a hope that I will pursue with a thirst.
Remember my beloved, my love shall sing
so cruel world,
                            I dare, do your worst.

Enchanting imagery, the mountains, forest, and stars in the sky made everything so surreal and at peace, a spark of light in a world so dark, you don't disappoint, well done. Scholar
