The Red, White And Blue

By Malcholm Dark

You're more precious than any gold...

From petticoats and rags that had been given a toss
To the hands of a seamstress by the name Betsy Ross.
This banner created, was held high with esteem
And bowed to no tyrant, nor any English king.
It beckons in the wind like an old faithful friend
My banner of pride, one I shall carry to the end.

You are...
the glow of strength our emotions bring
the song of hope we Americans sing
the feather of courage from an eagle's wing
the cry of freedom our bells of liberty ring.

You're more precious than any gold
And I'm very proud of you.
We pledge ourselves, young and old
To the red, white and blue.

To the few that burn her like an old deceitful sack
Get the hell out of my country and do not come back!
Go, live in Iran, This American would certainly not care
You may be welcomed, our flag is incinerated daily there.
There are certain things I hold proud and true
One of them is old glory--red, white and blue.

You are...
the glow of strength our emotions bring
the song of hope we Americans sing
the feather of courage from an eagle's wing
the cry of freedom our bells of liberty ring.

You're more precious than any gold
And I'm very proud of you.
We pledge ourselves, young and old
To the red, white and blue.

Very inspiring write Dark, true some of the things enacted under this flag may be "controversial" but the symbol itself is something to be revered. You did that very well, thanks again. Scholar

  • A former member wrote: This was a beautiful piece. Patriotism is a touchy subject and while I don't believe in many things that happen in the name of Old Glory, I am proud of my country. "The feather of courage from an eagle's wing". Scholar
