The Parting Of Ways
By Malcholm Dark
We started down as one, side by
side
A road I thought we would always ride.
But then dissension
came between us you see
My heart was broken as you sought to be
free.
Our love was like a complicated maze
...such are the
parting of ways.
--I can't explain where our love went wrong
the words are hard, so hard for me to say.
--We traveled down
that rocky road too long
you said good-bye to love and walked away.
The little matters we argued for, seemed so dumb
Then
came a loneliness coupled with the boredom.
I couldn't see your
problems clearly, though they grew
And the lies in your eyes with
the words, "I love you."
Our relationship ended in a doleful haze
...such are the parting of ways.
--I can't explain where
our love went wrong
the words are hard, so hard for me to say.
--We traveled down that rocky road too long
you said good-bye
to love and walked away.
Though many years have passed
me now
This love for you was kept somehow.
And even when I
close my eyes
Forgotten feelings still arise.
I think about
her through the days
...such are the parting of ways.
--I
can't explain where our love went wrong
the words are hard, so hard
for me to say.
--We traveled down that rocky road too long
you
said good-bye to love and walked away
You walked away
with a saddened gaze
...such are the parting of ways.

This is pretty much what I'm going through. Thank you so much for sharing this relatable and somewhat comforting piece. It's beautiful, in all its sadness.

I've been introduced to this feeling myself, and you totally captured the true rawness it brings along, "And even when I close my eyes, forgotten feelings still arise" that says it all. much props, and thanx for sharing

Brilliant, that was touching, a stark contrast to the zombie write lol, this was amazing, and it really elaborates why "parting is such sweet sorrow", well done, thanks for sharing.

Utterly beautiful. Something that burns and soothes simultaneously.
