Reign Of Rain

By Malcholm Dark

Above the horizon I come, I am
Rolling, churning, surrounding you
Ominous greys and black, formulating
Embittered plight--eminent adversity
The wind lessens and readies itself
The air calls thick of what is about to come
Lightning signals the horde above
Thunder calls down its' charge
Now I fall sharply toward an unsuspecting earth
Gaining momentum, my objective becomes clear
Uniting with others, banning together in cause
For I am we, and we are life sustaining
We strike the ground quickly and attack
First, we undo the covering winter snows
Then we break the overlying ice
As a force of one, we become indomitable
Rivulets, torrents, creeks, streams and rivers
We flow undaunted, unimpeded and unmolested
A conquering army marching toward the open sea
And to victory!  Where we join the agless drops
Only to ascend--to transform--to become one again
The harbinger of the skyways, Cumulus Nimbus!

Now begins the eternal cycle once more
a cycle... called life.

Oh my. You actually transformed an everyday thing into something epic, as if sung by the voice of an army. Brava!
