The Secret Life of Felines
By TheUltimateOutlaw
They have
Exchanged glances
With Gods in dreams of
Egypt and Persia; dreams lined with
Harems and dark boatmen.
They have traded
Jungle
Prowess
To learn the low
Secret tongue of sphinx and
The high cerebral words of man;
Which they speak secretly
Amongst their kin.
For this
They are
Deities in
Temples and kitchens
From the Nile to New York City.
Their antique souls are as
Elusive as
Their prowl.
Moving
Across backyards
Grasslands, or dark alleys,
They are heir to the kingdoms of
The rolling savannahs
And the urban
Jungle.

That rocks. Your wordplay is mesmerizing. The felines do seem to span their kingdom across the world from savannah to urban jungle as easily as they capture our hearts. My cat has taught me much, and would even more if I weren't such a poor student.

Indeed, it always seemed to me that a puppy was like a child while a cat was more like a friend. Long live the kitties!
