Midnight Orchids
By Leith Plunkett
He sprays perfume from an almost empty bottle
high above his head until the droplets begin to fall
The smell of orchids draping over his shoulders
with the delicacy of laced wings
Clinging to his flesh like gentle wishes
He closes his eyes and hopes to fade into midnight
For the slim chance he may see her smile
and hold hands in the summer rain
Where the only thing to be felt is each other

This is really beautiful. I love the image. Being able to will your other senses into making a reality out of a very strong desire...this was a flawless poem, really. Nicely written!
