My Castle

By BrokenButterflyWings

In my castle
Gray-white stone
In my castle
All alone.

Stone-cold walls
surround me
Closing me in
with moats to drown me.

All my friends
are locked outside
And the gateman
lost the key.

Empty hills and
Empty courtyards
Greet me everyday
and share my misery.

Slate gray towers
Pierce the sky
And speak of glory
from within.

No one knows
That rats are in the walls
And no one walks the halls.

They just admire
the glory from the gate
shut outside the walls.
