There Are No Winners Here

By TheUltimateOutlaw

We pretended it was a race to the finish line
But really it was only a sprint against time;

With you and I on one side
And I alone on the other.

I’m sorry it didn’t work out.
I was never a very strong runner.

    Sounds ... really understandable. Life tends to do that sometimes, where one has to unintentionally let someone else go for either their own or the other person's benefit. Sometimes it may be on purpose, but all in the end...it hurts.
