My Way of Missing
By Rhys Ki
I have run out of space to put up any more poems, so I had to stick two
in one here.... If you could sponsor me into a higher position, seeing
as I have no money to my name, that would be well appreciated... Enjoy.
I drove as quick as I could today, fast, fast, just about 123...
I took an unexpected, late bath last night and almost fell asleep,
Until I heard one of your songs, the way you played made me sing.
I cried a little, then a lot, shaking and hurting in that hot water, deep.
I couldn’t help but wonder what you look like, playing so passionately…
I can feel your love from so far away, and feel your trying strength to
keep
Going and going on and on and on. Saying your name always helps me, at
least.
I’ve spent every night since our too abrupt goodbye without a clear mind
or sleep.
I’m looking down on the line of death and hope as if it’s a cliff that’s
too steep
For me to walk down straight enough to make it back to you at all alive
or sweet.
But as long as you try too, I know I’ll make it through, so we can again
meet.
I can see the glory in it all too, and how wondrous it really is, in all
its beauty
I just wish that other people could see it as well as I do, so amorous,
and baby
Please don’t leave me ever, because even this pains me enough for a deadly
Habit to take me, but I won’t let it, as long as you’re there. It’s
just so hardly
Happy at all here, without you, when I’m used to having you every minute
with me.
I think I must be rambling now, I guess I just wanted to say that I adore
you fully
And that I am holding myself together with your words and feelings, miraculously.
You are the glue that holds together my being, my dove, my lover, my missing
piece.
Just always think of me, and every time you have any bad thoughts, keep
persevering.
So, you remember my smile and that I love you, and I’ll see you in both
of our dreams.
...
I know our love is eternal.
I can tell it by your kiss
And the way your eyes trespass my soul.
No one makes me feel like this.
If you had hit me,
I'd kiss your hand.
If you threw me,
I'd pray to never land,
Unless it's in your arms,
And your arms alone,
Because, with you,
I always feel at home.
I put my clothes on
Just so you can take them off.
Then we can intertwine,
Like the flame and the moth,
Until one of us gets burned.
I had yet to find a lesson
That I still hadn't learned.
But darling, you took the cake
In quenching my thirst
And giving me that whole
Entire week of "firsts."
I'm telling you, my dear,
I could swear we were soaring.
When I had to leave, though,
It gave new meaning to "mourning morning,"
For I bet that, if we had the chance,
We'd stay up all night
And sleep all day,
Everyday,
Just like these days passed.
But I know that inside lives a bit of you in me,
And for you, it's just the same.
And in each others hearts
Is where we find an undying flame.
How sorrowful were our last embraces,
How bittersweet were our final kisses.
They truly pained me so, though,
In the loveliest way of missing.
As I take to the sky,
I send you one last kiss,
Singing of our love
Into the abyss.
Now I must await
To hear your voice again.
And I'll be living patiently
In an earthly hell 'til then.

I know, dearest, I know. I do quite the same thing when I read your words at home... Sometimes Daniel will come up to me and say, "Well, what's wrong with you?" and I'll just laugh and say, "I'm in love..."

Nice pace for the first section! Interesting change in form in the second part -- provides for excellent structural contrasting...
