Deluding Whiskey with Cyan.i.d.e
By Revisable Retina
I hold my breath
you reach out to touch me
You force me down
and begin to trace me
Against my lips you press a glass of whiskey
Safely griped in shaking hands
I watch you strain and pull away
leaving me in an empty bed
with a head full of lotuses
I chase your shadows
down walls and hall ways
water logged and swollen
window seals leaking from its seams
I set out to gather myself
only to find my life has been
tripping on empty prescription bottles
tipsy from shots of venom
Rummaging through scattered shingles
Each one representing restless thoughts
Writing my dreams across a
spider webbed mirror in red lipstick
reminding me of -Who I Could Be-
Pressing my face to the ground I listen for
feverous oceans whispering cures
to the abstract artists
When all fails I drown myself
in a pile of pyres paper bound in leather
Waving my arms around frantically
screaming old scriptures
While putting my heart back together
with band-Aids and bobby pins
I find you in the kitchen
A glance of a sadistic smile
spreads across your lips
loathing my nonchalant persona
You stare with intention while
you pore with precision
deluding my whiskey with cyanide
I lay there and die....
While I watched you die
.
.
eternally

'in a pile of pyres paper bound in leather'- this is actually quite brilliant. love the way it ends with the precision pouring and i d e -maybe an anagram of 'die'. excellent.

Some really classic metaphors. Finishing out the last line was like waking up from a nightmare. Vivid... but surreal, like only dreams can do. Write on. I enjoyed the hell out of this.
