  • "I read this several times, yet I'm still not able to find the right words for this work...This was a dim piece, but at the same time, had a sort of ambience about it...good write...^vTracerv^"

  • "but truly, poetic purging IS artistic, in my eyes, if a real effort at creativity is taken. I later read that one of the great Greek philosophers had actually hypothesized that purging was the nature of poetry, and it may be true (even for my works)"

  • "Actually, the same goes for me. At the time I wrote this, I was really sick of the half-assed, cliche purge poems that were filling the 'new works' section at the time (a few years back). Since then, the writing quality has improved."

  • "but i certainly practice the former... this site also, i believe encourages it... but do you call it art? i dunno... just be, i suppose, but always strive to reach beyond that definition..."

  • "i've always been torn between the validity of ventingpurgingspewingspitting to feel some sort of relief in opposition to artistic musings to feel some sort of creative relief... certainly the former bugs me"

  • "ABABCC with some other rules, I like the rhyme scheme, reminds me of STC's 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner.' Calliope... I used that name in my poem 'Four Whores.' It's a good one. This poem is colorful, obviously thought-out, and just plain beautiful."

  • "and also find the lines "Catches the blood we too often bleed, So saline that in it worms won't breed" especially disturbing and effective at creating the mental picture for which you were going. Ciao, T/S"

  • "This is an amazingly well-written piece! This is a hard style to pull off and you have done so wonderfully! I agree the ending is very effective, "

  • "the title was indeed attention grabbing. and the poem was very good. the rhyme scheme worked well, and there were many excellent lines. it was very strong without being too blunt/direct. "

  • "Fantastic piece! Rhythmic and dreamlike, which fits the subject matter perfectly. Your ending is wonderful, "you'll learn yet, as your heart slows, succumbs to Time's sand; everything that Is, is Silhouette!" Very nice! Ciao, T/S"

  • "Readers, please note that the above poem was a strong reaction to a deluge of uber-cliche depressing works that were being posted on the old DP site. I leave it for humor and warning."
